The core four
डावा (left), उजवा (right), सरळ (straight), थांबा (stop) — every direction sentence in Units 08 and 14 builds from these four. Add इथे (here) and तिथे (there) for location.
Relative positions
आत (inside), बाहेर (outside), समोर (in front), मागे (behind), बाजूला (beside), पलीकडे (across), मध्ये (between). These answer "where exactly?" relative to a landmark.
Common mistakes
✗ Using बायाँ/दायाँ from Hindi✓ डावा/उजवा — no sound overlap, must learn fresh
Hindi बायाँ/दायाँ and Marathi डावा/उजवा share zero phonetics. This is pure vocabulary learning.
✗ Saying थांब for stop✓ थांबा — the imperative ends in ा
थांब is the root; the spoken command is थांबा (stop!) or थांबा एक मिनिट (wait a minute).
✗ Using यहाँ/वहाँ for here/there✓ इथे = here; तिथे = there
Hindi यहाँ/वहाँ vs Marathi इथे/तिथे — no sound overlap, must learn fresh.
